New Delhi: Veteran actress Surekha Sikri, who is fondly known for playing the role of ‘Dadisa’ in Colors TV’s ‘Balika Vadhu’, was hospitalized after she suffered a brain stroke on Tuesday (September 9). The 75-year-old actress, who is known for her power-packed performances in TV shows and films, was admitted to the ICU. She has been shifted to deluxe room from the ICU after her condition improved.

The ‘Zubeidaa’ actress has been suffering with minor paralysis after she suffered her first brain stroke in 2018. She was admitted to Mumbai’s Criti Care hospital earlier this week for treatment.

Surekha Sikri’s talent agent Vivek Sidhwani, while talking to ABP News, said, "Surekha ma'am's condition has improved and she is out of danger.”

When we asked about him about Sikri’s discharge, he said, "I can't say anything about the same at the moment. The doctors will take the decision on her discharge after she recovers completely. She is doing better than earlier.”

Surekha Sikri won several hearts with her performance as Durga Devi Kaushik aka Dadi in ‘Badhaai Ho’. She won the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the comedy drama. The movie also starred Ayushmann Khurrana, Neena Gupta, Gajraj Rao and Sanya Malhotra.

The ‘Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil’ actress has also won National Awards for ‘Tamas’ and ‘Mammo’. On the professional front, she was last seen in ‘Ghost Stories’, which beamed on Netflix.
