New Delhi: Rashmika Mandanna and Samantha Ruth Prabhu share a friendly bond that goes beyond their professional committments. As the latter finds herself mired in another controversy, we cannot help but recall a time when Rashmika stated that she was quite protective of her friend Samy. 

What Rashmika feels about Samantha

In an interview with Gulte.com last year, Rashmika was asked about what she feels about her friend Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The 'Pushpa' actress responded by saying she is the 'wonderful girl,the lady she is."

Calling her 'graceful with a beautiful heart' and she is like a person that 'I always want to protect. I am a very possessive Mumma when it comes to her."

When Rashmika was asked if she knew about Samantha's state until she posted about it ( her health condition) on social media, she added that she only wished the best for her and will always do so.

Samantha-Konda Surekha comment

Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently became embroiled in a controversy begun by Telangana minister Konda Surekha who made a remark about Naga Chaitanya and Samnatha’s divorce.

In response, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya put out statements slamming the minister.

Chaintanya wrote on X, "The decision of divorce is easily one of the most painful and unfortunate life decisions one has to make. After a lot of thought, a mutual decision was made by me and my former spouse to part ways. It was a decision made in peace, owing to our different life goals and in the interest of moving forward with respect and dignity as two mature adults. However, there have been various baseless and completely ridiculous gossips on the matter so far. I have remained silent all this while out of deep respect for my earlier spouse as well as my family."

While Samantha commented, “My divorce is a personal matter, and I request that you refrain from speculating about it. Our choice to keep things private doesn't invite misrepresentation. To clarify: my divorce was mutual consent and amicable, with no political conspiracy involved. Could you please keep my name out of political battles? I have always remained non-political and wish to continue doing so.” 

Konda Surekha apology

Later Surekha issued an apology and addressed Samantha directly on X, when she wrote, "My comments are meant to question a leader’s belittling of women and not to hurt your sentiments, Samantha. The way you have grown up with self-power is not only an admiration for me.. but also an ideal. If you or your fans are offended by my comments, I unconditionally retract my comments. Don’t think otherwise.”
