On February 2 this year, Vijay announced his foray into the political arena, unveiling his party's name, Tamizhaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), in a move that sparked considerable anticipation and speculation among his legion of fans. Amidst the buzz surrounding his political aspirations, a viral photograph depicting Vijay in the company of priests at a Sai Baba temple has created curiosity among eagle-eyed fans. Recent reports have shed light on the temple's origins, disclosing that Vijay himself undertook its construction for his mother, Shoba, a devout follower of Sai Baba.
About the Sai Baba Temple constructed for Vijay's mother
Situated on land owned by the actor in Korattur, Chennai's western parts, the temple's creation took place earlier this year, contrary to initial assumptions. The viral image capturing Vijay's temple visit dates back to this period and is not recent.
Born into a family with an interfaith setting, Vijay’s father, SA Chandrasekhar, hails from a Catholic Christian background, while his mother, Shoba, is a Hindu.

“Contesting the 2026 assembly elections and winning them to provide the political change the people of the state aspire to is our goal. After receiving recognition from the Election Commission, after the Lok Sabha election is over, our journey presenting our party ideology, principle, party flag, and symbol and our plans for the growth of the state of Tamil Nadu will begin,” Vijay had said in a statement announcing his entry into politics.

Regarding his career, Vijay is presently assisting director Venkat Prabhu on ‘The Greatest of All Time’, a sci-fi action film.
Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, and Laila are also part of the film.
The most recent film in which Vijay starred was Lokesh Kanagaraj's action thriller ‘Leo’.
