New Delhi: Superstar Rajinikanth, known affectionately as 'Thalaivar' among his legion of fans, recently marked the festival of Holi in the company of his loved ones, including his daughters Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth and Soundarya Rajinikanth. The iconic actor, renowned for his larger-than-life persona on-screen, took time off to revel in the joyous occasion with his family members, engaging in the customary exchange of colors to commemorate the festival's spirit.
For Rajinikanth and his family, Holi holds a special significance beyond the festivities. It was on this day, 49 years ago, that the legendary Tamil director K Balachander bestowed upon the then 25-year-old Shivaji Rao Gaikwad the iconic moniker "Rajinikanth," marking the inception of his illustrious career in Balachander's film Apoorva Raagangal (1975).
Capturing moments from their vibrant celebrations, Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth shared a heartwarming photo on Instagram, paying homage to her father's journey and the enduring legacy of K Balachander. In the image, Rajinikanth, adorned in colors, joyfully interacts with his grandchildren, while Aishwaryaa stands beside him, radiating happiness amidst colorful balloons.

Similarly, Soundarya Rajinikanth took to Instagram to share another snapshot of the family’s Holi festivity. Although Rajinikanth was not present in this particular photo, his wife Latha joined Aishwaryaa and Soundarya.

On the work front, the superstar will next be seen in ‘Vettaiyan.’ The film directed by TJ Gnanavel, also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, and Manju Warrier.
Rajinikanth has also collaborated with director Lokesh Kanagaraj's next, tentatively titled 'Thalaivar 171.’
