Legal notice to Kalki 2898 AD makers
The legal notice states, “In connection thereto, we hereby serve upon you, the addressees, the following Legal Notice to cease and desist from distortion, misrepresentation, and wrongful depiction of religious and sacred texts in your movie titled 'Kalki 2898 AD' (hereinafter referred to as “Movie”).
The legal notice added that Acharya Pramod Krisham is the chairman of Shree Kalki Dham Nirman Trust, which 'oversees the construction of Shri Kalki Dham dedicated to Lord Kalki, who is prophesisied to be the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Hindu Puranic scriptures."
The notice also said that the movie has changed the concept of Lord Kalki in the film. “These aspects are deeply rooted in puranic Hindu scriptures and hold profound importance in the Hindu religion, as will be detailed below. Your Movie has changed the basic concept about Lord Kalki, from what has been written and explained in Hindu Puranic Scriptures and for the said reasons, the portrayal and depiction of the story of Lord Kalki is wholly inaccurate and also blatantly disrespectful to these sacred texts, which are central to the religious beliefs and practices of a vast number of devotees, numbering in the hundreds of crores.”
The notice also added that such depictions of Lord Kalki and the mythology associated with it can lead to further confusion and tarnish the ‘ethos of Lord Kalki’.
This in turn could lead to “misunderstanding, misinterpretation and subsequent erosion of the Hindu faith, thereby causing extreme distress to the faith and religious sentiments of Our Client, and needless to say, of the wider Hindu community at large,” it added.
