‘Jailer’ Director Nelson Dilipkumar Gets A Cheque From Producer Kalanithi

Kalanithi Maran, CEO of Sun Pictures, presented Nelson Dilipkumar with a signed check after 'Jailer' success.

New Delhi: Over 20 days after its release, Nelson Dilipkumar's Rajinikanth-starring ‘Jailer’ has begun to see a decrease in its box office results, although it is still outperforming the vast majority of films produced this year. According to business tracker Sacnilk, ‘Jailer’ had a respectable third week in cinemas after a successful first and second. The film earned Rs 29.43 crore in nett income from the domestic market. The film’s producer has now handed over a cheque to director Nelson Dilipkumar.

The theatrical release of Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' has been a smashing success. The film has already been in cinemas for three weeks and is approaching Rs 350 crore net in India. The film is said to be one of 2023's highest-earning films.

On Friday, Sun Pictures' official X (formerly Twitter) account shared photos of Nelson Dilipkumar getting a cheque from film producer Kalanithi. The caption on the photo was, "Mr.Kalanithi Maran congratulated @Nelsondilpkumar and handed over a cheque to him, celebrating the Mega Blockbuster #Jailer."

CEO of Sun Pictures and financier of 'Jailer' Kalanithi Maran also met with Rajinikanth at his Chennai residence on August 31. Rajinikanth had signed the 'Jailer' contract with Sun Pictures on a profit-sharing basis in addition to his pay. Kalanithi gave Superstar a bouquet of flowers and a cash out of his part of the money.

According to multiple media reports, Rajinikanth received Rs 110 crore as his share of Jailer's revenues. For his role as the film's protagonist Muthuvel Pandian, the actor was reportedly paid Rs 110 crore. Then Rajinikanth has earned Rs 210 crores if the reports are accurate.
