Amala Paul Reacts To Criticism Against 'Inappropriate' Outfit: 'I Wore What Was Comfortable'

New Delhi: Amala Paul has been promoting her upcoming film 'Level Cross'. Recently, as Paul and her co-star Asif Ali were promoting their film at St. Albert's College in Ernakulam, Kochi, the former became a target of online trolling. A section of netizens criticised Amala's plungline and called her outfit 'inappropriate' and 'indecent'.

The actor has now responded to this criticism at a press meet, an Onmanorama report said.
When Amala Paul was asked about criticism that she received, Amala stated that she only wore what she was comfortable in. She also stated that the issue is with the way cameras shot her.
She was quoted as saying, "The problem lies with how the cameras projected my dressing style. I wore what was comfortable for me. My dress was not inappropriate for the function. What was probably inappropriate was the way the cameras projected my attire. I have no control over that.”
Contrary to what peole think, Amala made it clear that students were not uncomfortable with her dress. "The students were totally comfortable with what I wore. I wear all types of clothing, be it traditional or western. By wearing that dress, I wanted to instill confidence among students regarding their dressing choices."

Amala recently gave birth to a baby boy last month. Amala Paul is busy promoting her Malayalam film 'Level Cross' which will release in theatres on Friday.
Amala's pictures and videos from the event, which have been doing the rounds on social media, sparked controversy wherein most posted misogynistic comments.
A user commented on Amala's video, "Be it a part of promotion or any function, there should be some minimum sense of the dress you wear in an educational institution.” Another wrote, "Dress decently for an educational institution.” A user also expressed 'disappointment' and wrote, "Fashion sense (cross emoji) common sense (tick emoji) Disappointed amala.”
