Raj Kundra Sent To Police Custody Till 23rd July, Tells Mumbai Police ‘Was Earning A Lot Of Money Through It’

Police described Raj Kundra, 45, as a "key conspirator" if the case and said it had sufficient evidence against him.

A day after Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra, was arrested by the Mumbai Police, on Tuesday his aide Ryan Thorpe too was arrested in a scandal involving the production and streaming of porn films.

The duo was produced in court today. Raj Kundra and Ryan Tharp was taken to Mumbai's Esplanade Court.  Police described Raj Kundra, 45, as a "key conspirator" if the case and said it had sufficient evidence against him. The duo have been sent to Police Custody till 23rd July.

Meanwhile, ABP News has found out that police has seized a large amount of foreign currency from a company named Viaan, which is also the name of Shilpa Shetty & Raj Kundra's son. Crime branch has also seized mobile phones of Kundra and now they are awaiting to confront him with others arrested in the case. Raj Kundra told police that he was earning a lot of money through it, following which police remanded maximum days of custody for further interrogation.   

CBI sources have revealed that the entire porn racket was operated by a WhatsApp group. Sources said that Raj Kundra is the admin of a WhatsApp group named 'H' where he used to deal with his accomplices and discuss strategies to trick women in the racket and increase views of the videos shared by their team on various apps.

Sources further informed that there are five members in this WhatsApp group 'H' and they discussed all transaction-related issues and shared ideas on how to enhance their video production and profits. 

The Property Cell of the Mumbai crime branch had in February this year registered an FIR in connection with the case and arrested nine persons soon after. Kundra’s name came up during the interrogation of the accused, police officers said.
