Ahead of this year's much-anticipated San Diego Comic-Con, 'The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power' has unveiled new details and characters for its highly anticipated Season 2 premiere. The series, which is an adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's world, introduces a range of new characters that will enrich the show's expansive lore.

1. Narvi (played by Kevin Eldon)

Narvi, a great dwarf, is described by J.R.R. Tolkien as a master craftsman and a close friend of Celebrimbor. Together, they created the renowned Doors of Durin on the west side of Khazad-dûm. Owain Arthur, who reprises his role as Prince Durin IV, mentioned that Narvi will play a significant role throughout the season. Although only briefly mentioned in Tolkien's appendices, the showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay have developed Narvi into a full-fledged character. Narvi, portrayed by Kevin Eldon, will face a critical dilemma in Season 2 as King Durin increasingly falls under the influence of the Rings of Power, leading Narvi to question his loyalty to the king versus his duty to Khazad-dûm.

2. Camnir (played by Calam Lynch)

Camnir, an expert elven map-maker, specializes in navigating the woods of Eriador. His skills are put to the test when unforeseen dangers force a search for a new path to Eregion. Camnir's bravery becomes crucial when Elrond's band of warrior-elves encounters an unexpected threat: The Barrow-wights.

3. Rían (played by Selina Lo)

Known as one of the finest archers in Lindon, Rían is a key member of Elrond’s newly formed band of warrior-elves. Her exceptional skills in archery and courage will be invaluable as they defend Eregion from various threats.

4. Mirdania (played by Amelia Kenworthy)

Mirdania, a protégé of master craftsman Celebrimbor, finds her loyalty tested by the arrival of an unexpected visitor in Eregion. This visitor has the potential to change the fate of the Elven-smiths forever.

About The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2:

In the second season, Sauron has returned, now cast out by Galadriel and without an army or allies. The Dark Lord must rely on his cunning to regain strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, tools that will enable him to dominate the peoples of Middle-earth.

The new season builds on the epic scope of the first, plunging beloved characters into a world teetering on the brink of calamity. As friendships are strained and kingdoms fracture, the forces of good struggle to hold on to what matters most: each other. Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots—all are drawn into the escalating conflict as the darkness rises.

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" Season 2 will be available in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, starting August 29, exclusively on Prime Video.
