Akshay Kumar’s latest film, 'Sarfira', is set to hit Disney+ Hotstar on October 11, the streaming platform announced on Thursday.
The movie is a Hindi remake of the Tamil blockbuster Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara, who also helms 'Sarfira'. The original Tamil version featured popular actor Suriya in the lead, while 'Sarfira' stars Akshay Kumar in the central role, alongside Paresh Rawal and Radhikka Madan.

Speaking about the film, Kumar shared, "Sarfira' is a film about a Sarfira insaan who dared to dream big and work for it tirelessly. I'm a firm believer that when a dream transforms into ambition, nothing can stop it from coming true and that's what I respected about Vir’s dream; it became a passion-driven cause that brought about a change for the common people."
"I like to be a part of stories that inspire and amount to a bigger picture, 'Sarfira' is one such story where I saw my inner beliefs being a part of the script," Kumar said in a statement.
About Sarfira
In 'Sarfira', Kumar plays Vir Mahtre, a man determined to make air travel affordable for ordinary citizens through an innovative business plan. The film, which hit theaters in July this year, has been praised for its inspiring storyline and performances.
The project is produced by Cape of Good Films, Abundantia Entertainment, and 2D Entertainment, ensuring a high-profile release both in theaters and on OTT.
