Panchayat Season 5 Announced: Prime Video’s Hit Rural Drama To Return In 2026

Panchayat Season 5 is officially in the works. Prime Video and TVF confirm the hit show will return in 2026. Cast members tease new drama and joy in Phulera.

Fans of the beloved village drama 'Panchayat' can finally rejoice! After the roaring success of Season 4, Prime Video has officially greenlit Season 5, which is now in development and scheduled to release in 2026. The announcement comes on the heels of a cliffhanger ending in the latest season that left viewers eagerly awaiting what’s next in the political tug-of-war in Phulera.

A fresh poster shared by Prime Video offers a sneak peek at the mood of the upcoming season. Unlike the serious tone of the previous poster, this new visual features all key characters smiling joyfully, hinting at a possibly lighter start to the next chapter. One unexpected hero? The humble lauki (bottle gourd), prominently featured in the artwork, suggesting its own quirky role in the drama to come.

Team TVF Reflects on Panchayat’s Journey

Speaking about the show’s continued success, Vijay Koshy, President of The Viral Fever (TVF), shared heartfelt gratitude towards the team and fans. “It has been a truly extraordinary journey collaborating with Prime Video to bring Panchayat to life and witness its incredible growth over the years," he said. Highlighting the show’s deep-rooted storytelling, Koshy added, “This series holds a special place in our hearts, as it beautifully captures the charm, humor, and nuances of rural India."

He also credited the cast and crew for their unwavering dedication and thanked global audiences for embracing the show. “We’re excited for what lies ahead and look forward to bringing Season 5 to audiences in 2026,” Koshy concluded.

Sanvikaa Confirms Season 5, But Plot Details Are Top Secret

Sanvikaa, who plays the popular character Rinki, also confirmed the news fans were eagerly waiting for. “Yes, yes, yes, definitely. It is happening,” she told News18 Showsha. While confirming that the writing is still underway, she hinted that filming could begin by late 2025 or early 2026.

However, she remained tight-lipped about what lies ahead for Rinki and Sachiv ji, played by Jitendra Kumar. “That’s why we left the season at that point, so we can take it up in the next season,” she teased, urging fans to keep the excitement alive.

A Stellar Cast Gears Up to Return

Panchayat continues to win over audiences with its relatable storytelling and endearing characters. Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra and Akshat Vijaywargiya, and written by Chandan Kumar, the show boasts a talented ensemble including Neena Gupta, Raghubir Yadav, Faisal Malik, Chandan Roy, Sanvikaa, Durgesh Kumar, Sunita Rajwar, Ashok Pathak, and Pankaj Jha.

With Phulera’s quirky politics, romantic undercurrents, and rustic humor set to make a grand return, 'Panchayat Season 5' promises more warmth, wit, and possibly a few surprises—lauki included.
