Did Navjot Singh Sidhu Charge Huge Fee For The Great Indian Kapil Show, Kapil Sharma Spills Beans

Kapil Sharma returns with The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix. From poking fun at Archana’s vlogs to welcoming Sidhu, the premiere was full of laughs and star power.

Comedian and TV icon Kapil Sharma has made a roaring return with the latest season of 'The Great Indian Kapil Show', now streaming on Netflix. The much-awaited opening episode featured Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, who shared amusing anecdotes, while Kapil delivered his signature punchlines and pulled no punches when it came to teasing his co-stars.

Kapil Welcomes Sidhu, Credits Netflix for Budget Boost

A major highlight of the season premiere was the return of Navjot Singh Sidhu to the judge’s seat. Kapil welcomed him back with a trademark jibe, saying, “I want to thank Netflix for giving us that much budget that we could afford Sidhu paaji.”

He continued the banter, joking, “Paaji, after so many years you are back in this chair, bhale hi gathbandhan ki sarkar bani ho. How are you feeling? Netflix is spending big, but how do you feel?”

Sidhu responded with his signature poetic style, quipping, “June can't come between July and August and Dehradun (Archana) can't come in between two people from Amritsar (him, Kapil).” The reference to Archana Puran Singh drew laughter from the audience and set the tone for more teasing to come.

Kapil Takes Playful Jab at Archana Puran Singh’s Vlogging Career

As the episode progressed, Kapil jokingly blamed Sidhu for the six-month delay in launching the new season. However, he soon clarified he had been busy with two upcoming films. Archana Puran Singh, in response, mentioned that she had been working on her vlogs.

Kapil, ever the mischief-maker, responded, “That’s a great excuse for her family to feast for free. It’s not called a vlog, it’s called fraud.” He added that Archana often seeks restaurant discounts, and when she's not recognised, she uses her husband’s name — actor Parmeet Sethi of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge fame — to claim her celebrity status.

What to expect in The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 4?

The new season kicked off with Salman Khan revealing personal tidbits, including playful jabs at Aamir Khan’s marital history and Seema Sajdeh’s divorce from Sohail Khan. He also addressed a recent incident involving an uninvited female fan entering his home.

Along with Salman, this season brings back fan favourites Krushna Abhishek, Sunil Grover, and Kiku Sharda. A fresh format addition involves inviting fans to showcase their talents on stage. Cricket stars like Gautam Gambhir, Rishabh Pant, Abhishek Sharma, and Yuzvendra Chahal are also slated to appear in upcoming episodes.

'The Great Indian Kapil Show' is available to stream on Netflix with new episodes dropping every week.
