Abhishek Bachchan Tests Negative For COVID-19; Big B Tweets 'Welcome Back Bhaiyu'

Amitabh Bachchan thanked the fans for their prayers and wishes after son Abhishek Bachchan tested negative for novel Coronavirus.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan took to Twitter and Instagram to inform his followers that he has tested negative for COVID-19. The ‘Guru’ actor was admitted to Nanavati hospital last month along with his father Amitabh Bachchan after they tested positive for novel Coronavirus. Earlier this month, Big B was discharged from the hospital after his reports came out as negative. The ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ actor also thanked the doctors and nursing staff for taking ‘good care’ of him and his family members. Abhishek wrote, "I TOLD YOU!!! Discharge plan: YES!! This afternoon I tested Covid-19 NEGATIVE. Thank you all for your prayers and wishes. I’m so happy to be able to go home. #believe. My eternal gratitude to the doctors and nursing staff at Nanavati Hospital for taking such good care of me and my family and helping us beat Covid-19. We couldn’t have done it without them."
Varun Dhawan, Hrithik Roshan and other tinsel town celebs dropped comments on the post. Abhishek's sister Shweta Bachchan Nanda wrote,"We are happy to have you back." Abhishek Bachchan Tests Negative For COVID-19; Big B Tweets 'Welcome Back Bhaiyu (Source- Instagram) Amitabh Bachchan, while replying to his son's tweet, wrote,"welcome home Bhaiyu .. GOD IS GREAT." The 'Gulabo Sitabo' actor also thanked his followers for sending prayers for his family. He tweeted, "T 3620 - Abhishek tests negative for CoviD .. discharged from Hospital .. on his way home .. GOD IS GREAT. thank you Ef and well wishers for your PRAYERS .."
The father-son duo tested positive for COVID-19 on July 11. Senior Bachchan's daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and granddaughter Aaradhya tested positive for the virus on the next day. While Amitabh and Abhishek were admitted to Nanavati hospital on the same day, Aishwarya and her daughter were admitted on July 17 after the 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' actress reported mild fever. They were discharged from the hospital on July 27 after they tested negative for COVID-19. The paparazzi managed to catch a glimpse of the actor while he was leaving the hospital.
On the professional front, Abhishek Bachchan was last seen in 'Breathe Into The Shadows'. The web series also starred Amit Sadh and Nithya Menen.
