New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood actor Kader Khan, who was hospitalized in Canada, passed away after a prolonged illness. He was 81. The ‘Aunty No. 1’ actor‘s son Sarfaraz Khan, while talking to ABP News, confirmed his death. He said that the talented actor left for his heavenly abode on December 31, 6 pm according to Canadian time. The last rites of the ‘Dulhe Raja’ actor will take place in Canada. Kader Khan was transferred from a regular ventilator to a special BiPAP ventilator because of breathing issues. Earlier, Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan prayed for Kader Khan's recovery and wrote a heartfelt message for him on Twitter. PRAYERS and DUAS for his well being and recovery .. saw him perform on stage, welcomed him and his prolific writing for my films .. great company, a Libran .. and many not know , taught Mathematics!,'' Big B wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Kader Khan made his acting debut in the year 1973 with Rajesh Khanna’s 'Daag'. The talented actor has featured in over 300 films including  Aankhen, Taqdeerwala, Main Khiladi Tu Anari, Dulhe Raja, Coolie No.1, Saajan Chale Sasural.  As a screenwriter, the 'Gharwali Baharwali' actor frequently collaborated with directors like Manmohan Desai and Prakash Mehra. The multiple time Filmfare Award winner was one of the finest gems of Hindi cinema and he leaves behind a strong legacy. We express our deepest condolences to the Khan family.
