Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar Box Office Collection Day 2: Ranbir Kapoor-Starrer Witnesses Decline, Mints Rs 10.34 Crore

'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' premiered on March 8 and had a strong opening weekend.

New Delhi: 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar', starring Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, premiered on March 8 and had a strong opening weekend. But, despite a strong start, the rom-com was unable to maintain the pace and experienced a fall in box office receipts on its second day of release.

The day 2 domestic box office figures for 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' were shared on Twitter by trade expert Taran Adarsh on Friday. The Luv Ranjan directorial has so far made a total of Rs 26.07 crore nett at the Indian box office, with the Ranbir-Shraddha movie earning Rs 10.34 crore nett on Thursday after generating Rs 15.73 crore nett on its first day.

"Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar maintains the grip on Day 2… A 34.27 percent decline on a working day - after a holiday - was inevitable… Biz (business) should start moving from Friday [evening] onwards, with Saturday and Sunday giving that extra boost… Wednesday ₹15.73 crore, Thursday ₹10.34 crore. Total: ₹26.07 crore India biz," the tweet read.

The review of teh film on ABP Live reads: "The catharsis in this three act film is well-worth a watch and for that reason 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar' can be seen as a family entertainer despite its many problems and pseudo-feminism. There is an end-credits sequence where for some 4 minutes, even as critics you're hooked to what's happening on screen- an ideal life story plays out- an in-laws family and the most loving partner in the world doing everything to make their daughter-in-law feel at home and everyone is supremely happy."

Besides Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor, 'Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar' also stars Anubhav Singh Bassi, Dimple Kapadia, and Boney Kapoor.
