New Delhi: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Emraan Hashmi starrer 'Tiger 3' will release on Diwali and the advance booking for the film opened on November 5. Going by the numbers it seems, the film is set to do wonders at the box office.
Instead of releasing on Friday with Diwali weekend, the makers have opted to release the film on Diwali day (Sunday) – which is considered a low day at the box office because of the festival. Despite this, the film has sold 1,42,030 tickets across all platforms and languages in the first 24 hours of advance booking going live, according to industry tracker Sacnilk.
At national chains–PVR, Inox, Cinepolis– the film has sold nearly 60,000 tickets, according to Pinkvilla. Though the film is trailing when compared with films like Pathaan and Jawan, the numbers still indicate a good box office numbers for the film.
The BookMyShow portal had sold around 120000 till the end of November 5, 2023.
Produced by Yash Chopra Films, the film is the fifth film in the YRF Spy Universe, following ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘War’, and ‘Pathaan’.
The trailer showed Emraan as an antagonist and some intense action sequences. Katrina’s towel fight sequence at a hammam garnered a lot of attention.
Talking about the action sequence in the film Katrina said, “It was a very, very difficult sequence to shoot because it has incredible hand to hand fighting inside a steamy Hammam room so gripping, fending, landing the punches and the kicks everything was very difficult. Hats off to Adi for thinking of this brilliant scene because I don’t think there has been a fight sequence like this featuring two women on screen in India!”
Shah Rukh Khan will make a special appearance in the film as Pathaan.
The film also features Kumud Mishra, Revathi, Riddhi Dogra and Anant Vidhaat.
