Telugu Actor Ram Charan To Donate Rs 70 Lakh As Coronavirus Aid

Telugu actor Ram Charan followed the footsteps of Pawan Kalyan, who donated Rs 2 crore to the government relief fund amid COVID-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: Telugu star Ram Charan, who recently joined Twitter, has announced that he will donate Rs 70 lakh to the government's relief fund to battle the Coronavirus pandemic. At a time when the entire world is battling the deadly virus, the ‘Dhruva’ actor said that he would like to contribute his bit to the relief fund. Ram Charan said that he was inspired by Pawan Kalyan, who donated Rs 50 lakh to the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana government CM relief fund. He tweeted, “Hope this tweet finds you in good health. At this hour of crisis, inspired by @PawanKalyan garu, I want to do my bit by contributing to aid the laudable efforts of our governments. Hope you all are staying safe at home! @TelanganaCMO @AndhraPradeshCM @PMOIndia @KTRTRS.” "Inspired by Pawan Kalyan Garu's tweet, I would like to contribute Rs 70 lakh towards the centre and states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh relief fund in this moment of crisis. I would like to applaud the commendable efforts of our Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and Honourable Chief Ministers of our respective states KCR Garu and Jagan Mohan Reddy Garu in curtailing the vast effects of the pandemic COVID 19.As a responsible citizen, I encourage all to strictly abide by their rules and recommendations. Jai Hind," Ram Charan’s statement read.
"My wholehearted gratitude to Sri Ram Charan @AlwaysRamCharan for donating Rs. 70 lakhs to fight against Corona Pandemic," Pawan Kalyan wrote while thanking him for the contribution.
Veteran actor and Ram Charan’s father Chiranjeevi also joined Twitter and pledged a donation of Rs 1 crore for the film workers, who have been affected due to the lockdown. "The lockdown situation while mandatory to deal with the #CoronaCrisis, also adversely impacts the lives of daily wage workers & lower income groups in the country including the #TeluguFilmIndustry.Keeping this in mind I am donating Rs.1 Cr for providing relief to the Film workers," Chiranjeevi wrote.
On the professional front, Ram Charan will be next seen in SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’. He is playing the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju in the epic drama. The first motion poster of 'RRR', which was released on March 25, is creating a lot of buzz on social media.
