Tejas Box Office Collection Day 3: Kangana Ranaut's Aerial Action Film Witnesses A Slight Fall

Kangana Ranaut’s film 'Tejas' was not able to cross even the Rs 4 crore mark in the domestic market.

New Delhi: Kangana Ranaut’s film 'Tejas' has ended its opening weekend in theaters without being able to cross even the Rs 4 crore mark in the domestic market. According to Sacknilk report, on its third day of release in theaters on Sunday, the film did not register any improvement in box office figures and minted an India net of just Rs 1.3 crore, the same amount it brought in the previous day.

Even on its Friday release date, the film did not attract much audience and achieved a total revenue of Rs 1,25 crore, which is significantly lower than the estimated budget of Rs 60 crore.

‘Tejas’ experienced a low overall Hindi occupancy rate of 8.37 percent on Sunday. Initially, the movie had a low occupancy rate of 5.80 percent within the Hindi market during the morning shows. Subsequently, the percentage increased slightly, but negligibly, to 8.79 percent during the afternoon screenings, 10.94 percent during the evening screenings, and 7.96 percent during the night screenings.

The film is set to fail its first Monday test miserably, with an estimated revenue of Rs 54 lakh across the country. Additionally, the film has not generated any traction in the overseas market, with a total revenue of Rs 25 lakh so far.

Recently, Kangana shared a video on Sunday in which she urged her fans to go to the cinema to watch ‘Tejas’. In the video, she stated that the COVID-19 pandemic had had a detrimental effect on the Indian film industry, with many theaters shutting down. She insisted that people should go and watch movies in theaters with family and friends.

‘Tejas’ was released alongside Vikrant Massey’s ‘12th fail’, which is getting better by the day and is likely to do better. The film's three-day collection is double what ‘Tejas’ earned in the opening weekend.

Helmed by Sarvesh Mewara, the film ‘Tejas’ revolves around an Indian Air Force pilot who goes on a mission to save a group of terrorists from being held hostage. Other prominent actors in the film are Anshul Chauhan, Varun Mitra, Ashish Vidyarthi, and Vishak Nair.
