Sushant Singh Rajput Drugs Case: NCB Grills Actor's Bodyguard
The Narcotics Control Bureau, which is investigating the drugs angle in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, questioned his bodyguard on June 2 as part of their probe.
Mumbai: The Narcotics Control Bureau questioned late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s bodyguard in connection with a drugs case linked to his death. The NCB interrogated his bodyguard on Wednesday (June 2) evening as part of their investigation in the high-profile case.
Earlier in the day, the drugs law enforcement agency arrested a drug peddler, Harish Khan, in a case linked to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
The NCB had quizzed Sushant’s former domestic workers, Neeraj and Keshav, on Sunday as part of their probe. Last week, the agency issued summons to the duo for questioning.
The NCB had earlier arrested Sushant’s friend and former flat mate Siddharth Pithani in connection with his death case. A Mumbai court on Tuesday (June 1) extended NCB’s custody of Pithani till June 4.
Pithani was arrested nearly three months after the federal agency filed a charge sheet in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case before a Mumbai special court. NCB named 33 people including Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik in the charge sheet.
Last year, the NCB arrested Chakraborty siblings in a drugs case linked to Sushant’s death. The Bombay High Court granted bail to Rhea on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. She walked out of Byculla jail after staying behind the bars for close to a month.
Her brother Showik Chakraborty, who was arrested under various sections of the NDPS Act, remained in prison for close to three months before getting bail in December 2020.
Sushant was found dead at his apartment on June 14, 2020. Three Central agencies including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are probing his death case.
