Sooryavanshi Box Office Collection Day 1: Akshay Kumar's Film Packs A Solid Punch, Gets Highest Opening Of 2021

Sooryavanshi Box Office Collection: Akshay Kumar's film has managed to rake in big moolah on its first day.

Mumbai: Akshay Kumar’s magic in ‘Sooryavanshi’ has worked wonders for the film as it has started on a solid note at the box office. The film, which released on November 5, has set the cash registers jingling on its opening day. Trade pundits were expecting ‘Sooryavanshi’ to rake in big moolah as it is one of the highly anticipated flicks in recent times. The Rohit Shetty directorial has emerged as the highest opening film in recent times.  

'Sooryavanshi' First Day Collection

The movie co-starring Katrina Kaif has surpassed all the expectations on its first day, setting new box office records. As expected, 'Sooryavanshi' minted over Rs 25 crore despite theatres running with fifty percent occupancy in Maharashtra, a key contributor to theatrical business.

Bollywood critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the first day box office collection of 'Sooryavanshi'. He said that the film is expected to perform well in the upcoming days.

#Sooryavanshi ROARS on Day 1… REVIVES biz… Records EXCELLENT numbers, despite 50% occupancy in the largest market [#Maharashtra]… Day 2 is SUPER-STRONG… Has potential to grow over the weekend… CINEMAS AND CINEGOERS ARE BACK… Fri ₹ 26.29 cr. #India," Adarsh wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Taran Adarsh revealed the main markets, which significantly contributed to Sooryavanshi’s box office. The film has performed reasonably well in the Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra and Gujarat circuits. Considering the positive reviews and mouth-of-the-word publicity, Akshay’s new release will have a huge opening weekend.  

How Akshay Kumar Reacted To 'Sooryavanshi' Grand Opening

Khiladi Kumar penned a heartfelt post on November 5 to express gratitude towards the audience for showering his film with love. He wrote, “Pardon the goofy gig am overjoyed! Thank you SO much for embracing cinemas back in your lives. The super response is not just for Team #Sooryavanshi, it is a mark of faith that’ll bring joy and prosperity back in our film industry. We are nothing without you. Sheer gratitude,” the ‘Good Newwz’ star wrote. 

'Sooryavanshi' was originally slated to hit the silver screens in March 2020; however, the movie got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis. Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh have reprised their respective roles of Bajirao Singham and Sangram Bhalerao in the cop drama.
