Sidharth Malhotra's 'Shershaah' Becomes Most Watched Film On Amazon Prime Video In India

Shershaah has been viewed by audience in over 4100 towns and cities in India within two weeks of release.

Mumbai: Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Shershaah’, which premiered on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video, has added another feather in its cap. After receiving rave reviews from the critics, the war drama has become the most watched film on Amazon Prime in India till date.

Movie buffs in over 4100 Indian cities and towns have streamed the ‘Shershaah’ in the first two weeks. The film has also been viewed in 210 countries and territories across the world. Interestingly, no other Indian film has managed to achieve this feat in this particular time frame.

The filmmaker, who produced 'Shershaah' under his home banner, expressed his excitement by sharing a post on social media. He wrote, "We are the #1 watched film on Amazon Prime Video! Grateful, overwhelmed & exhilarated by the LOVE & RESPECT that has poured in for Shershaah. Been an honour to showcase a legacy that will go down in history, once again."

‘Shershaah’ chronicled the story of Captain Vikram Batra, from his first posting in the Indian Army to getting martyred in the 1999 Kargil War. The Vishnuvardhan directorial has also become one of the most popular Hindi flick on IMDb with a rating of 8.9. Over 88,000 users have reviewed the film on IMDb after its release on the leading OTT platform.

Sidharth Malhotra, who was seen as Vikram Batra, received praises from the audience for his performance in 'Shershaah'. His sizzling chemistry with Kiara Advani also grabbed several eyeballs. The film also starred Nikitin Dheer, Shiv Pandit and Sahil Vaid in key roles.
