Shabana Azmi Health Update: 'She Will Remain In ICU For About 48 Hours More..'- Says Boney Kapoor

Boney Kapoor provided a health update about Shabana Azmi, who met with an accident on January 18.

New Delhi: Veteran actress Shabana Azmi met with an accident on Mumbai-Pune Expressway after her car rammed into a truck. The ‘Neerja’ actress was immediately admitted to MGM Hospital in Panvel for medical treatment. She was later shifted to Kokilaben Hospital in Andheri. According to the doctors, Shabana suffered a head injury and a slight damage to her backbone. Several Bollywood celebs including her husband Javed Akhtar, Farah Akhtar, Anil Kapoor visited Shabana Azmi at the hospital. Fans also prayed for her speedy recovery on social media. Boney Kapoor, while talking to an entertainment portal, provided an update about Shabana Azmi’s health. He said that the ‘Ankur’ actress is improving rapidly and will stay in the ICU for 48 hours more. “Shabana Azmi is improving rapidly. The MRI was done and it was clear. She is not on sedation anymore. However, she will remain in the ICU for about 48 hours more just to see if everything is maintained well enough,” Boney Kapoor told SpotboyE.

An FIR was registered against Shabana Azmi's driver by Rajesh Pandurang Shinde, the truck driver whose vehicle was hit from behind by Azmi's car. Watch this space for more updates!
