All You Need To Know About Sedition Case Filed Against Kangana Ranaut

For the uninitiated, the Bandra Magistrate court had directed the police to investigate the complaint filed by  Munnawar Ali Sayyed against Kangana and Rangoli. The casting director and fitness trainer accused the sisters of 'promoting enmity between communities' through their posts on social media. An FIR was registered against the siblings under various sections of the IPC including 153A (promoting enmity between different groups), 295A (deliberate and malicious act to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting their religion) and 124A (sedition), as per a report in PTI. The Mumbai Police officials had summoned Kangana and Rangoli three times in connection with the case. The 'Fashion' actress had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court to quash the FIR registered against her and Chandel. The court granted interim protection to the duo and directed them to appear before the Mumbai Police on January 8. Earlier in the day, the 'Queen' star shared a video to highlight how she has been targeted for speaking on several issues. She said that cases have been filed against her for 'standing up for the nation'. "Why am I being mentally, emotionally and now physically tortured? I need answers from this nation.... I stood for you it’s time you stand for me," Ranaut tweeted.
On the professional front, Kangana Ranaut will be next seen in 'Thalaivi'. The National Award winning actress will be seen as former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the movie. She also has 'Dhaakad' and 'Tejas' in her kitty. Watch this space for more updates!
