Samantha Ruth Prabhu Quotes Bhagavad Gita Amid Shaakuntalam Box Office Failure, Telugu Producer Says Her 'Career Is Finished'

New Delhi: Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest film ‘Shaakuntalam' didn’t perform as expected at the box office. On Tuesday, the actor posted a picture and quoted a line from the Bhagavad Gita.

It seems Samantha is unfazed by the failure of her anticipated film as she shared a picture of herself with a caption in Sanskrit quoted from the Bhagavad Gita. She seemed to have addressed the underwhelming response to the film, calling that she can only do her duty and can't control the outcome.

She wrote, "Karmanye vadhika raste Ma phaleshu kadachana Ma karma phala he tur bhuh Ma te sangotsva karmani (You can only do your karma, and can't be the authority of it. One should not perform karma with the desire for reward)."

The film was hugely anticipated by the fans of the actress but it failed to deliver and entertain the audience. After the film tanked, a Telugu film producer named Chittibabu has criticised Samantha, saying that her career is 'finished'. He told a YouTube channel that the days of stardom are over for the actress, and she should do whatever offers she gets from now on.

Samantha will next be seen in the Indian chapter of ‘Citadel’, a globe-trotting spy drama, with Varun Dhawan. While talking to PTI, Samantha said even though her health posed a major challenge, she enjoyed doing action for ‘Citadel’. She is grateful to the team for being patient and understanding of her. The actor was diagnosed with myositis, an autoimmune condition, in October last year.

“Physically, the show is very intense, there is a lot of action in ‘Citadel’ and we recently shot something and we are very happy and proud to show it to the world, I am really looking forward to that. Considering the challenges that I am facing health wise, I am glad I am able to do what I am doing in ‘Citadel’. Everyone is being patient and kind and I am truly grateful for that,” she was quoted as saying by PTI.

Her future project also includes Telugu romantic-comedy ‘Kushi’ with Vijay Deverakonda.
