'Chali Chali' Out: Did You Know Thalaivi's Song Is Inspired From Jayalalithaa's First Tamil Film?

'Chali Chali': Samantha Akkineni launched the first song of Kangana Ranaut starrer 'Thalaivi'.

Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Thalaivi’ has been trending on social media ever since the makers of the upcoming film released the trailer on her birthday. The trailer of ‘Thalaivi’ has received an amazing response from the audience on Twitter and Instagram. Movie buffs are quite excited to see Kangana as former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in her biopic.

After creating waves with the trailer, the makers have released the first song from ‘Thalaivi’- titled 'Chali Chali'. The song beautifully captures the starting phase of late Jayalalithaa’s cinematic career.

Tinsel town diva Samantha Akkineni launched the song in three different languages on social media. She tweeted, “Amma's unmatched grace and her stunning screen presence is known to all. Witness her fanfare from Cinema to CM.”

Kangana Ranaut has received praises from all the corners for embodying the persona of Jayalalithaa. Saindhavi Prakash’s soulful voice and Kangana’s on-screen magic are the main highlights of the song.

The makers of ‘Thalaivi’ is inspired by Jayalalithaa’s debut Tamil film ‘Vennira Aadai’, which released in 1965. Kangana replicated the looks of Jayalalithaa’s song ‘Ammamma Kaatru’ from ‘Vennira Aadai’ with perfection. The striking resemblance between the two songs will definitely catch your attention.

Kangana thanked the fans for showering her with love after the release of her song. She tweeted, "Thank you for giving so much love to Chali - chali, lot of Hindi speaking people asking was Jayaa maa so beautiful in her debut song? Well I am not a patch on her, here is her debut song link, Chali chali is fashioned after ammmamma kaatru have a look."

‘Thalaivi’ will focus on Jayalalithaa's struggles in the film industry to rise as the female superstar. The movie will also chronicle her rise in the political arena and showcase how she changed the dynamics of Tamil Nadu politics.

‘Baahubali’ writer KV Vijayendra Prasad has penned the script for ‘Thalaivi’ while AL Vijay has directed the film. The much-awaited film is slated to hit the silver screens on April 23, 2021. It will release in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The makers have decided to not postpone the movie’s release date despite rising number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
