Salman Khan Becomes BMC's 'Partner', Requests Citizens To Take Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

BMC thanked Salman Khan after the 'Radhe' actor urged the people to get vaccinated to keep COVID-19 at bay.

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has roped in Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to spread awareness about COVID-19 vaccine and dispel the misinformation about vaccination. In a video message shared on BMC’s official Twitter handle, the ‘Bharat’ actor can be seen urging the citizens to take their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine. He requested everyone to follow social distancing, wash their hands at regular intervals and wear masks to keep the virus at bay. 

Salman stressed on the importance of getting vaccinated to safeguard oneself from Coronavirus. He asked people to not believe the fake rumours, which are circulating on different social media platforms about the vaccine.

BMC thanked the ‘Race 3’ star for making an earnest request to the citizens amid the COVID-19 crisis. The official Twitter handle of the civic body shared the video along with the caption, “Be our 'partner' when it comes to quashing misinformation around vaccines - stop the chain of forwards. Thank you @BeingSalmanKhan for spreading awareness on vaccines and urging people to get their #JabToBeatCorona as soon as possible.” 

Researchers have suggested that the third wave of COVID-19 can hit India in the next few months. The country grappled with the pandemic in the months of April and May, with cases breaching the 4 lakh per day mark. Many tinsel town celebs including Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar tested positive for COVID during this period.

Salman extended support to the industry workers during the first and second wave of Coronavirus. His NGO offered food to the needy, who were severely affected by the health crisis.  

On the professional front, Salman was last seen in ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’. The action drama co-starring Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda and Jackie Shroff premiered on ZEEPlex and leading DTH platforms on May 13. Despite the scathing reviews, the Prabhu Deva directorial managed to gain over 4.2 million views across all platforms on its opening day. 

Salman has a couple of exciting projects in his kitty including ‘Tiger 3’ and ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’. He will team up with Katrina Kaif once again for the third installment of the ‘Tiger’ franchise.
