Salman Khan Meets Tokyo Olympics Silver Medalist Mirabai Chanu, Extends Best Wishes To Weightlifter

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Wednesday (August 11) met Indian weightlifter Mira Chanu, who secured the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 in the category of 49 kgs. The ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ actor extended his warm wishes to the 27-year-old on social media.

The ‘Wanted’ star took to his official Instagram handle to share a picture with Chanu along with a heartfelt message. He expressed his happiness over the weightlifter’s historic win at the Tokyo Olympics and sent his best wishes to her. 

“Happy for u silver medalist @mirabai_chanu .. lovely meeting with u … best wishes always!,” Salman wrote on Instagram. The ‘Bharat’ actor and Chanu can be seen smiling while striking a pose for the camera. 

Fans have flooded the comments section with their messages. The post has received over 4 lakh likes and the numbers are increasing with every passing minute.

On the professional front, Salman was last seen in ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’. The film co-starring Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff and Randeep Hooda premiered on ZEEPlex and leading DTH platforms on the occasion of Eid 2021. Despite receiving scathing reviews, the Prabhu Deva directorial managed to perform well on its opening day across all platforms. 

Salman has several exciting projects in pipeline including 'Tiger 3', 'Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali' and 'Antim'. He will be seen sharing screen-space with Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi in the third installment of 'Tiger' franchise.

Bollywood's 'Sultan' will return to the small screen with a new season of 'Bigg Boss' next month on Colors channel. He is hosting the popular reality show since the last 11 years.
