'Salman Khan Lives In 1 BHK Flat With One Sofa, Dining Table': Mukesh Chhabra On Actor's 'Simple Lifestyle'

Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently talked about Salman Khan, how he is misunderstood, and his simple lifestyle.

New Delhi: Casting director Mukesh Chhabra recently talked about Salman Khan, how he is misunderstood, and his simple lifestyle. In a podcast, he said that only a few people know that Salman lives in one bhk apartment in his Galaxy apartment.

Chhabra, who has done casting for many of Salman Khan’s films, including 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Tubelight', spoke to Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia on ‘The Ranveer Show.’

In the podcast, the casting director said he has known the actor for over a decade, but the star hasn’t changed at all. He also shared that the actor is the only person available for everyone and would answer a call even at 3am.

“He is the only person who is always available for everyone, who stands up to support you. He is honest and people misunderstand honesty. That’s the problem, when you say something honestly people take it very differently,” he said in Hindi.

Regarding Salman’s simple lifestyle, Chhabra said, “He leads a simple life. Very few people know that where he lives, it’s actually a 1BHK apartment. It has one sofa, a dining table, a small area where he talks to people, a small gym and a room. That is Salman Khan, the biggest star of this country. He leads an extremely simple life. He doesn’t fancy brands or is into buying expensive things. He will eat everything, he lives a normal life. It is not his artistic process, he is just like this. I have been interacting with him for 15 years now, I haven’t seen him change.”

He also called Salman ‘bhagwan ka banda’. “Not everyone gets this much love. As they say, God has his chosen ones, Salman is one of them, ‘Bhagwaan ka banda’. He gets so much love. From kids, teenagers, to grandparents — everyone loves Salman Khan,” he said in the interview.

Chhabra said before approaching him, he always checks, “bhai ka mood kaisa hai”. “He is the biggest star of India, so of course he has a lot of pressure. For 30 years to maintain that (stardom), of course there will be pressure. Same with Shah Rukh sir, Aamir sir. Everyone has that pressure,” he said.

Salman Khan will be next seen in ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, directed by Farhad Samji.
