'Roohi' Twitter Review: Rajkummar Rao & Janhvi Kapoor's Horror Comedy Gets Mixed Response
Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer 'Roohi' is the first major film to release in the cinema halls after a long time.
Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor’s much-awaited flick ‘Roohi’ has hit the silver screens on Thursday (March 11). Movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for the horror comedy drama ever since it was announced that ‘Roohi’ would release in the theatres. Rajkummar Rao and Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Roohi’ had set the box office on fire and trade pundits expect them to re-create the same magic with ‘Roohi’.
Unlike ‘Stree’ which received good reviews from the critics and fans, ‘Roohi’ has not been able to resonate well with the audience. The Hardik Mehta directorial has managed to get mixed reviews from the fans on social media.
Several fans lauded Rajkummar and Varun's performance but criticised the 'weak screenplay' of the film. One user wrote, "#Roohi is one of the weakest film from #dineshvijan banner, even #Raabta was good compared to it
Story & Screenplay are one note while the acting is below par with only @RajkummarRao showing some credibility."
While many users gave the film scathing reviews, some fans called ‘Roohi’ an ‘entertaining film despite the flaws’.
“I watched it FDFS. Despite all its flaws and ambiguous ideas, Roohi is still an entertaining film. This is an experimental comedy, that creates an eerie atmosphere and it manages to be funny and scary at the same time,” one user tweeted.
Another user tweeted, "Roohi is Enjoyable thanks to some Hilarious scenes and genuinely scaring moments @varunsharma90 love story with the Shapelifter Afzana was the major highlight. Stree was better but it deserves a Theater watch. It worked for me."
‘Roohi’ also starred Varun Sharma, Manav Vij, Sumit Gulati and Sarita Joshi in key roles. It remains to be seen how much the film is able to mint on its opening day at the box office.
