Ranbir Kapoor's Throwback PIC With Father Rishi & Uncle Rajiv Goes Viral

Ranbir Kapoor performed the last rites of his uncle Rajiv Kapoor, who left for his heavenly abode on February 9.

Veteran Bollywood actor Rajiv Kapoor, known for his performance in Raj Kapoor’s ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, passed away on February 9 after suffering a cardiac arrest. He left for his heavenly abode at the age of 58. Several tinsel town celebs including Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher, Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar mourned his demise on social media.

The likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Alia Bhatt, Tara Sutaria and Chunky Panday visited the Kapoor family residence in Chembur to pay their last respect to the late actor. Alia Bhatt had to return early from her Maldives vacation following the demise of Ranbir Kapoor’s uncle.

Several photos of Rajiv Kapoor with his family members went viral on the internet post his death. In one of the photos, the ‘Lover Boy’ actor can be seen posing with a young Ranbir Kapoor and late Rishi Kapoor.

Rishi Kapoor, who passed away in April 2020, can be seen looking at the camera in the throwback snap. One of Ranbir Kapoor’s fan clubs posted the photo on Instagram along with the caption, “In loving memory.” The picture will surely leave you with tears in eyes. Check it out!

Ranbir Kapoor performed the last rites of his uncle at a crematorium in Chembur. The Kapoor family didn’t host a Chautha ceremony for Rajiv Kapoor due to ‘safety reasons’. Neetu Singh shared a family statement on Instagram to inform the fans that they have decided to not conduct Rajiv Kapoor’s Chautha because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Kapoors organized a small puja in memory of Rajiv Kapoor on Friday (February 12). Karisma Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan were snapped at Kapoor’s residence for the puja.

Talking about Ranbir, the ‘Sanju’ star is currently busy with Luv Ranjan’s upcoming film. He will be seen sharing screen-space with Shraddha Kapoor in the much-awaited film.

The Kapoor lad also has ‘Brahmastra’, ‘Shamshera’ and ‘Animal’ in pipeline’. The ‘Barfi’ star will be seen opposite his ladylove Alia Bhatt for the first time in Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
