Ranbir Kapoor Calls Animal 'The Darkest Film He Has Ever Done', Shares Details About Ramayana

Ranbir has often said that he finds ‘Animal’ his darkest film and that in order to portray the role, he even shaved his head.

New Delhi: Ranbir Kapoor recently had an interaction with his followers on social media, and a video of it has been shared on X, formerly known as Twitter. During his live interaction with his fans, the actor spoke about his upcoming film ‘Animal’, amongst other things. Ranbir said ‘Animal’ is the darkest movie of his life. The actor further said that he doesn't understand the dark psyche of his character in ‘Animal’.

Ranbir has often said that he finds ‘Animal’ his darkest film and that in order to portray the role, he even shaved his head: "For ‘Animal’, I had shaved my hair! For the last scene, I had done that. So now I am growing my hair. Since I am not working on any films, I am eating a lot and not following any diet. I have changed my entire lifestyle. I have quit smoking, so I am eating a lot of chocolate.”

Also when the fans further asked him about his upcoming film ‘Ramayana’, Ranbir said, "Ramayana’ is a huge project, and a lot of hard work has gone into it. Nothing's been decided yet, but I'm hoping it's finished soon. So far, I've heard a lot of ideas, but nothing's been decided yet. Even Anurag Basu's Kishore Kumar biopic has been in the making for a long time."

Speaking more about collaborating with Sandeep Reddy Vanga on ‘Animal’ and making its world come alive on the big screen, Ranbir mentioned, "I have found working with Sandeep to be an incredibly rewarding experience as an actor, as he is so unique. There is no reference to any of his films, and everything I did in ‘Animal’ as a character was completely new. This film is the darkest I have ever worked on, as I am not playing a psycho killer. It is just the character, his mind, and the way he operates. His psyche is very dark."

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the film's cast includes Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, followed by Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in the supporting roles. The film is set to hit theaters on December 1 this year.
