Radhika Madan Starrer 'Sanaa' Selected For Official Competition At New York Indian Film Festival

‘Sanaa’ is also set to be a part of the 25th UK Asia Film Festival as an Opening Film, scheduled to take place from May 4 to 13, 2023.

New Delhi: National Award-winning director Sudhanshu Saria's upcoming film 'Sanaa' starring Radhika Madan has been selected for the official competition at the 23rd New York Indian Film Festival, North America's oldest and most prestigious film festival showcasing cinema from India and the Indian diaspora. The festival celebrating cinema from the global Indian community will take place from May 11 to 14, 2023.

‘Sanaa’ tells the story of a 28-year-old woman, played by Madan, who is fighting an internal battle caused by unresolved trauma. The film also features a talented cast, including Soham Shah, Shikha Talsania, and Pooja Bhatt. It has already been part of several prestigious film festivals and was the only Indian film to be premiered at both the 26th Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival and the 38th Santa Barbara International Film Festival.

Expressing his excitement and gratitude for being part of the New York Indian Film Festival, director Sudhanshu Saria said, "It is a great honour to have Sanaa selected for the official competition at the New York Indian Film Festival. This festival has been a longstanding champion of independent cinema from the Indian Diaspora, and we are thrilled to have our film showcased alongside such diverse and compelling works. Saria’s last film KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK played in the main competition in their 2019 edition and won the Best Screenplay Prize.

Meanwhile, Radhika Madan was seen in ‘Kuttey’ alongside Tabu and Arjun Kapoor. She was in fact appreciated a lot for her performance. Radhika Madan also has a web series with Dimple Kapadia ‘Saas Bahu aur Flamingo’ in the pipeline. 

The trailer of ‘Saas Bahu aur Flamingo’ was released recently and created quite a stir among fans who are waiting for this rather different web series to premiere.
