'Bravo India': Priyanka Chopra Expresses Gratitude To Medical Teams As COVID-19 Vaccination Drive Starts In Country

Priyanka Chopra welcomed the COVID-19 vaccination drive which commenced in India from January 16. The Bollywood diva lauded the frontline warriors for serving the country during the COVID-19 crisis.

Global icon Priyanka Chopra, who is gearing up for the release of ‘The White Tiger’ on Netflix, expressed delight as the COVID-19 vaccination drive started in India on Saturday (January 16). The ‘Quantico’ actress congratulated the Indian authorities and healthcare teams for rolling out the vaccination drive in the country. She also thanked the frontline warriors and lauded their efforts during the Coronavirus crisis.

“Bravo India! Congratulations to Indian authorities, medical & health teams for starting off the massive Covid vaccination drive. Forever grateful to our frontline heroes who have been risking their lives this past year to save others,” Priyanka wrote while retweeting a tweet from UNICEF India. Check out her post!

Several Bollywood celebs including Kangana Ranaut, Anil Kapoor and Esha Deol expressed their excitement on social media. They welcomed the Coronavirus vaccination drive and hoped it would bring an end to the pandemic, which has severely affected the functioning of many countries of the world.

AIIMS director Dr Randeep Guleria became one of the first Indians to receive the COVID-19 vaccine in Delhi. Reacting to a video featuring Guleria, Kangana Ranaut wrote, “Wonderful!! Can’t wait.”

Anil Kapoor shared a post on his official Twitter handle and saluted the frontline workers, who work round the clock for the safety of the citizens.  He also said that he would take the COVID-19 vaccine with 'pride and without fear'.

According to a statement issued by the Health Ministry, 1,65,714 people were vaccinated on Saturday. No case of post-vaccination hospitalisation has been reported so far.

Talking about Priyanka Chopra, the Bollywood diva will be next seen in ‘The White Tiger’. The drama film, which is the adaptation of Aravind Adiga's novel of the same name, also stars Rajkummar Rao and Adarsh Gourav. The movie has released in selected theatres on January 13. It will be available for streaming on Netflix from January 22. PeeCee also has ‘Text For You’ and ‘The Matrix 4’ in her kitty.
