NEET-JEE 2020: Sonu Sood Requests Govt To Postpone Exams, Says 'Should Not Risk Students Lives'

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood has requested the Government of India to postpone NEET, JEE exams owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

New Delhi: From several Chief Ministers and leaders to celebs and activists, many bigwigs of the country have raised their concerns over the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and demanded to postpone the upcoming NEET and JEE Examination. The latest to join the row is Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who since the breakout of Coronavirus has emerged as a hero for people battling the pandemic. Taking cognizance of students' plight, the actor has requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Ministry of India to postpone the NEET and JEE exams. Taking to his official account, Sonu Sood said: "It's my request to government of India, to postpone the Neet/ JEE exams in the current situation of the country! In the given COVID-19 situation, we should care utmost and not risk the lives of students!"
Earlier today, environmental activist Greta Thunberg also stepped forward in support of students demanding postponement of the nationwide JEE NEET 2020 exams. I stand with their call to Postpone JEE NEET in COVID." Te JEE (Mains) 2020 examination for admission to engineering colleges will be conducted from 1 to 6 September, while the NEET (UG)-2020 examination is scheduled on 13th September.
