Alia Bhatt On Bagging Best Actress National Award: 'I Do Not Take Moments Like These Lightly'

Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Award along with Kriti Sanon at the 69th National Film Awards for their performances in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’ respectively.

New Delhi: Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt won the Best Actress Award along with Kriti Sanon at the 69th National Film Awards for their performances in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’ respectively. Alia thanked the film’s director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the crew, her family and her team for the award. She also dedicated her award to her audience. 

Alia took to Instagram and posted pictures of herself and wrote a long note on her feat. In one of the pictures, Alia is seen doing the famous Gangu pose. She wrote, “To Sanjay Sir.. 
To the entire crew.. 
To my family.. 
To my team 
 
& last but most definitely not the least 
 
To my audience.. ♥️ 
 
This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. seriously!!! 
 
I am SO grateful 🙏.. I do not take moments like these lightly.. I hope to continue to entertain for as long as I can..

She then congratulated Kriti and recalled the day when she had messaged Kriti after watching her film Mimi. 

Alia wrote, “P.S - Kriti .. I remember messaging you the day I saw Mimi .. it was such an honest and powerful performance.. I cried and cried.. so so well deserved.. shine on you star… the world is your oyster 🦋 @kritisanon.” 

Released in 2022, 'Gangubai Kathiawadi' is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film also stars Shantanu Maheshwari, Vijay Raaz, Jim Sarbh, and Ajay Devgn. The film is about Gangubai Kothewali, whose life was documented in the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai written by S. Hussain Zaidi. The film depicts the rise of a simple girl from Kathiawad who had no choice but to embrace the ways of destiny and swing it in her favour.
