The much-anticipated film ‘The Fable’, starring National Award-winning actor Manoj Bajpayee, is set to make its India debut at the upcoming Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image (MAMI) Film Festival 2024. The film has drawn attention not only for its star cast but also for the involvement of Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, who have joined as executive producers.

Directed by Raam Reddy, acclaimed for his Kannada feature ‘Thithi’, which won two Golden Leopards at the Locarno Film Festival and the National Film Award, ‘The Fable’ promises to be a captivating cinematic experience. The film, which had its world premiere earlier this year at the Berlin International Film Festival, tells the story of a family living amidst the serene beauty of the Indian Himalayas.

It’s refreshing to see an Indian film with such a global appeal that defies conventional boundaries. Raam Reddy has beautifully captured the soul of the Himalayan hills in this unique story.”

She added, “This is a distinct Indian narrative with a universal message, gorgeously shot on film. With a stellar cast led by Manoj Bajpayee, along with Priyanka Bose, Deepak Dobriyal, and Tillotama Shome, we’re excited to ensure The Fable gets the recognition it deserves on a global stage. We all grew up with fables, and now it’s time to revisit one.”

About The Fable

‘The Fable’ follows the life of Dev (Manoj Bajpayee) and his family, who live in a sprawling orchard estate in the Himalayas. Their tranquil existence is shaken when they discover a burnt apple tree, leading to further mysterious destruction. As suspicion mounts, tensions within the family rise, culminating in a fire that forces Dev to confront the truth about himself and his loved ones.

The film is a joint India-US production by Prspctvs Productions and Maxmedia, with Sikhya Entertainment now on board to help amplify its reach.
