Starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles, Kesari movie released worldwide on Thursday(March 21) on the occasion of Holi and the film becomes the biggest opener of 2019(so far). The movie has set box office on fire, and the historical drama has not only managed to win critics' positive reviews but is also drawing the audience to the theatres in large numbers. Kesari movie is based on the battle of Saragarhi, and in the film, Akshay is essaying the role of Havildar Ishar Singh, who is the leader of his battalion of Sikh soldiers and motivates them to fight against the massive army of the Afghans. Akshay Kumar in Kesari Kesari released on Holi and although majority of the multiplexes were shut in the morning shows, the movie took a good start of around 20 per cent. Looks like after celebrating Holi, the audience came out in large numbers to watch the film and it witnessed massive growth in the post noon shows. Kesari witnessed a bumper opening in all 4,200 screens across the world. It is running to packed theatres in 3,600 screens across the country. Directed by Anurag Singh, Kesari features Akshay in lead role of Havildar Ishar Singh, whereas Parineeti Chopra who has a guest appearance, plays his late wife in the film.
