Kamal Haasan Announces Gangster Film Titled Thug Life With Mani Ratnam; Shares Teaser

Kamal Haasan announced the details of his upcoming movie, which is directed by Mani Ratnam.

New Delhi: On his birthday eve, Kamal Haasan announced the details of his upcoming movie, which is directed by Mani Ratnam. The actor has released the a teaser for his upcoming action movie, 'Thug Life'.

As the clip begins, a lone man can be seen in the video standing in the center of a barren landscape. The actor appears draped in a rustic cloak around himself. He is confronted by five men who are ready to charge at him from a distance and who are carrying different kinds of weapons. His long locks are exposed when he sheds the cloak as the men get closer and he prepares to attack in a martial arts stance. After that, he begins to carefully beat the men.

Over three decades later, Kamal Hassan and Mani Ratnam will reunite in this movie. The duo worked together in their cult epic crime thriller 'Nayakan' in 1987.

Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies are teaming up to co-produce 'Thug Life'. Jayam Ravi, Nasser, Abhirami, Dulquer Salmaan, and Trisha make up the ensemble cast of the movie. Mani will work with his regular team, which consists of composer AR Rahman, editor Sreekar Prasad, and cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran.

Alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Hassan will also feature in Nag Ashwin's epic science fiction picture 'Kalki 2898 AD'. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on January 12, 2024. Kamal's next project is 'Indian 2', which is a follow-up to Shankar's popular 1996 vigilante action movie. The sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on April 12, 2024, and he will play Senapathy once more. Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, and Kajal Aggarwal also feature in the upcoming movie.
