'Jodha Akbar' actor Pappu Polyester aka Syed Badr-ul Hasan Khan Bahadur passes away

New Delhi: Bollywood and television actor Syed Badr-ul Hasan Khan Bahadur, fondly known as Pappu Polyester in film industry, left for his heavenly abode on Tuesday (February 5).  The veteran actor was known for his role as Maharaja of Mysore in the TV show ‘The Sword of Tipu Sultan’, which starred Sanjay Khan in lead roles. He had received the National Award for Best supporting actor for his performance in the show.  According to a report in Times Now, the ‘Jodha Akbar’ actor breathed his last in his native place Lucknow. He played the role of  Mulla Do-Piyaza in 'Jodha Akbar'. (Pappu as Mulla Do-Piyaza in Jodha Akbar, source- screen grab) Pappu Polyester, who is said to be related to Nawab Wajid Ali Shah- the tenth Nawab of Awadh, had a successful career spanning over 25 years. He was part of films like ‘Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani’, ‘Khoya Khoya Chand’, ‘Phool Aur Angaar’, ‘Tumse Achcha Kaun’ and ‘Hero Hindustani’, to name a few. For the uninitiated, Pappu was also a classical dancer and had won an award for the best classical dance from prominent Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj. He was also felicitated with the honour of doctorate in acting by  Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkar University. We express our deepest condolence to the actor’s family.
