Jigra Box Office Day 5: Alia Bhatt Film Struggles To Collect Rs. 20 Cr Amid Controversies

Despite an aggresive promotions campaign, the film is barely showing any signs of recovery. As per the latest update on Sacnilk.com, 'Jigra' has collected Rs. 1.60 cr on its fifth day of release.

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt's 'Jigra' release has been mired in controversies. As charges of fake collections fling around, Bhatts' 2024 solo release is not doing well at the box office. Despite an aggresive promotions campaign, the film is barely showing any signs of recovery. As per the latest update on Sacnilk.com, 'Jigra' has collected Rs. 1.60 cr on its fifth day of release.

The latest Sacnilk.com report sasy that 'Jigra' has slowed down even more on its first Tuesday. The film is yet to cross Rs. 20 cr mark. This Vasan Bala film has registered the lowest opening for an Alia Bhatt film in 10 years, with Rs. 4.55 cr. On Day 2, it collected Rs. 6.55 cr and on Day 3, Rs. 5.5 cr. 

However, the biggest slump came on Day 5, when on Monday, the film collected Rs. 1.65 cr. With day 5 collections into account, 'Jigra' collected Rs. 19.85 cr.

About Jigra

'Jigra' stars Vedang Raina, Alia Bhatt and Manoj Pahwa. It is a film about a sister's jailbreak attempt to rescue her brother, who is about to be executed in a foreign high-security prison. The film has been produced by Alia and her sister Shaheen Bhatt's Eternal Sunshine Productions and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions. 

Since the release of 'Jigra', it has come under the spate of several controversies. Actor-filmmaker Divya Khossla Kumar recently compared Jigra's storyline to that of Savi. She also accused the makers of manipulating the box office numbers. While the Manipuri-actor Bujou Thaangjam accused the casting team of 'Jigra' for unprofessional behaviour.
