New Delhi: The success of Rajinikanth's newest film ‘Jailer’ can be predicted by the fact that his fan base is global. The film was released today (August 10th) amid great anticipation. People are having a blast setting off fireworks and showering the superstar's billboard with petals. Now, in a viral video, a Japanese couple goes all the way to Chennai only to see the opening day of Rajinikanth's 'Jailer'.


Rjinikanth's 'Jailer' premiered to rave reviews and overwhelming fan support. A video of a Japanese couple who flew all the way from Osaka to Chennai to see the film at local theatres has gone viral, adding to the film's widespread acclaim.


The video, shot by the news agency PTI and posted on Twitter, shows the Japanese pair gushing to other moviegoers about their anticipation for Rajinikanth's new flick. Yasuda Hidetoshi, one of Rajinikanth's biggest followers, spoke to the media in Tamil and expressed his joy at the superstar's success. 


The leader of a Rajinikanth fan group in Japan, Yasuda Hidetoshi remarked, “To see the Jailer movie, we have come from Japan to Chennai." In addition, he was heard reciting dialogue from ‘Jailer’ and earlier Rajinikanth movies.




Yasuda told the news outlet that he had admired the celebrity for close to two decades. His first two Rajinikanth movies were 1995's Muthu and Baashha. 


It is not the first time that he has made the journey to Chennai in order to see a film starring Rajinikanth. During his previous trips to the city, he went to see ‘Darbar’ and ‘Kabali’.


Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’ was released in theatres today throughout the globe. Both Kannada and Malayalam cinema stars, Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar, make brief appearances in the film. Some of the actors and actresses in the film are Jackie Shroff, Ramya Krishnan, Tamannaah, Vinayakan, and others.
