Irrfan Khan questions the silence of Muslims on Dhaka attacks as he explains the true meaning of Islam
New Delhi: Actor Irrfan Khan who recently took to social media to condemn the Dhaka attacks and offer his condolences to the victims may have landed himself in the middle of a controversy once again for questioning the silence of the Muslim community on the recent attacks by the ISIS.
The actor criticises the terrorists for bringing a bad name to Islam but at the same time points a finger at the Muslim community who were already piqued by the actor's audacity to question the killing of the ‘Bakra’ in the name of ‘Qurbani’. He mentioned in his post:
"Religion in childhood asked people to not eat alone and invite neighbors over if they were empty stomach. Ever since the attacks in Bangladesh, there has been an atmosphere of fear. People were killed in the month of Ramzan because of the ignorance of the others to the verses of the Quran. One incident somewhere defames Islam and every Musalmaan in the nation: the Islam that is based on peace, mercy and empathy. In such a state, should a Musalmaan stay quiet and let Islam be sullied or should he himself understand the true meaning of Islam and preach that it does not mean atrocity and massacre. This is a question!"
