The thirteen season of the Indian Premiere League (IPL) kick-started in UAE on Saturday (September 19) with an exciting opening match with last year’s champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Cricket lovers are quite excited to see a cracking contest between arch rivals MI and CSK in the first match of the IPL 2020. Both the sides significant fan following and have won several seasons of the annual T20 carnival.

The match between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings is currently underway at Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Not only common people, even our favourite Bollywood celebs are busy enjoying the game at their homes.

Varun Dhawan took to social media to share a video in which his father David Dhawan can be seen cheering for Mumbai Indians and clapping for skipper Rohit Sharma after he hit a splashing four. The ‘Kalank’ actor revealed how the filmmaker’s joy knew no bounds because of cricket.

“The absolute joy. This is the happiest he’s been in the lockdown and it’s only because of cricket #ipl #david dhawan @mumbaiindians @chennaiipl #dhoni,” Varun wrote while sharing the clip.



On the professional front, Varun Dhawan will be next seen in David Dhawan’s ‘Coolie No.1’. The comedy drama is the remake of Govina and Karisma Kapoor’s 1995 film of the same name.

‘Coolie No’ co-starring Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal was originally slated to hit the silver screens in May 2020. However, the flick got delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis. Speculations are rife that the film might release on a leading OTT platform in Diwali 2020. It is being said that the makers have sold the digital rights to a prominent streaming giant for a whopping amount.
