Mumbai: Bollywood stars Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal have been hogging all the limelight ever since they tied the knot on December 9. The couple got hitched in an intimate ceremony at Six Senses Fort Barwara in the presence of their family members and close friends. The two lovebirds dropped a series of pictures from their pre-wedding shoot on social media. Katrina, who looked stunning in a Sabyasachi saree, paid tribute to her mother’s British heritage during the wedding festivities.

Sabyasachi Mukherjee, who designed Katrina’s outfit, shared details about the vintage-inspired couture saree. The ace designer revealed that the ‘Sooryavanshi’ actress paid a tribute to her mom’s British heritage by wearing a saree, which was ‘silhouetted’ like a white wedding gown. 

“Katrina Kaif @katrinakaif pays tribute to her mother’s British heritage during the pre-wedding festivities. Sabyasachi conceptualised and created a vintage-inspired couture sari with a trailing veil. Silhouetted like a white wedding gown, the pastel tulle sari is embellished with hand-cut English flowers, embroidered by craftswomen from Bengal and liberally sprinkled with semi precious gems and crystals,” a post on the official Instagram handle of Sabyasachi read. 

Guess what? Forty artisans took 75 days to handcraft Katrina’s ensemble for the pre-wedding function. The ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ actress completed her look with a diamond choker and matching earrings from Sabyasachi’s jewelry collection. 

 “The ensemble took 40 artisans over 1800 hours to handcraft. The sari is paired with a statement uncut diamond choker detailed with opals and pale Russian emeralds, with matching earrings from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery,” Sabyasachi revealed while sharing the post on Instagram. 

 Katrina-Vicky Return To Mumbai After Their Honeymoon

The newly married couple returned from Maldives in a chartered plane after enjoying a romantic honeymoon in the exotic locales of the island country. They walked hand-in-hand as they arrived at Mumbai's Kalina airport. The B-town stars greeted the paparazzi, who were stationed outside the airport to click their photos.

The newlyweds will soon commence shooting for their respective projects. 2021 proved to be a lucky year for the duo as they received appreciation for their performances.
