Dia Mirza Celebrates PM Narendra Modi's Initiative To Ban Single-Use Plastic In India

Dia Mirza, who is a torchbearer for causes related to nature, supported PM Narendra Modi's initiative to ban single-use plastic in the country.

Mumbai: Dia Mirza has been a dedicated change agent and voice for the environment in India and internationally for many years now. Her love for nature has motivated her to eliminate single-use plastic from her life completely and she has consistently used her influence to urge others to follow suit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent announcement to make India single-use plastic free is a historic move for the country and for Mirza a huge push to a campaign she has appropriated for years now. The PM's push will accelerate Mirza's pursuit of inspiring people to live an ecologically friendly life and eliminate single use plastic from everyday life. The Prime Minister's speech this year highlighted that he aims to start a new revolution against single-use plastic from October 2nd and celebrate Mahatma Gandhi's birthday in a unique way. With an added responsibility as an UN SDG advocate, Dia uses every chance she has to create awareness and inspire people. Her continued efforts towards a sustainable lifestyle have shone forth in her work as well. For her recent show Kaafir, she gifted her entire crew metal bottles to avoid plastic on set. She has taken on multiple roles and works with various organizations in the likes of Wildlife Trust of India, Sanctuary Asia and Save the Children to use her position to reach maximum people in the country. As the forerunner in reigniting and strengthening the relation between man and nature, Dia is a champion of nature in its truest sense.
