Delhi Elections 2020: Riteish, Richa, Kritika & Other Celebs Urge Delhites To Vote

Popular celebrities took to their social media accounts and urged Delhites to cast their vote for the right candidate.

New Delhi: Polling for the 70 seats of Delhi Assembly has finally began at 8am in the national capital today (February 8) amid tight security. While the voting will continue till 6 pm in the evening, various popular celebrities including Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh, took to their social media accounts and urged Delhites to cast their vote for the right candidate "based on the track record of work alone". Last seen in Akshay Kumar's 'Housefull 4', late politician Vilasrao Deshmukh's actor-son Riteish Deshmukh tweeted, "Delhi, it's almost time to vote, to choose the right candidate who is good for you, your city, your state... based on the track record of work alone... Make sure you cast your vote and lead India, like the Capital should. #JaiHind." Most recently seen in Kangana Ranaut's 'Panga', Richa Chadha wrote, "दिल्ली मेरी प्यारी दिल्ली, कल वोट ज़रूर डालना है ! Love you" Popular rapper Raftaar, who owns a huge fan-following on social media , asked his Delhi fans to vote. He wrote, "MAKE SURE YOU VOTE. Delhi, it's almost time to vote, to choose the right candidate based on their track-record of work alone. Make sure you cast your vote and lead India, like the Capital should. KAAM DEKHEIN, VOTE DEIN. SHUKRIYA." 'Raanjhana' fame Mohd. Zeeshan Ayyub shared, "दोस्तों, दिल्ली आ गया हूँ। अपनी सबसे बड़ी ताक़त, voting का इस्तेमाल करने और देश के लिए अपने सबसे important फ़र्ज़ को निभाने। दिल्ली के दोस्तों, ज़्यादा से ज़्यादा तादाद में वोट करें कल। यही असली तरीक़ा है देश के लिए कुछ करने का।" TV actress Kritika Kamra, who made her Bollywood debut with 2018 film 'Mitron' opposite Jackky Bhagnani, tweeted, "Dilliwalon, vote wisely. AAP PE UMMEEDEIN TIKI HAIN." Shruti Seth tweeted, "Delhi, please go vote tomorrow! And choose your government wisely. Vote for things that will make your life better. Simple!" "TVF Tripling" fame Amol Parashar, who will next be seen in Bhumi Pednekar & Konkona Sen Sharma starrer 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare', has words of encouragement for voters, too. "Let's step out and vote tomorrow Delhi," he said. Speaking about the elections, Delhi is witnessing a triangular contest among the ruling AAP, which won a landslide majority in the last elections, the BJP and the Congress. In the last poll, the AAP had won 67 seats, the BJP 3. Congress didn't open its account. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is hoping to retain power for the second consecutive term. Similarly, the BJP is hopeful to gain a majority by cashing in on the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The results will be declared three days later on February 11.  (Tuesday) Keep watching this space for more updates!
