Coronavirus: Nana Patekar Donates Rs 50 Lakh To PM-CARES Fund To Fight COVID-19
Veteran actor Nana Patekar also urged the people to stay inside their homes and practice social distancing during the lockdown.
New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi recently announced the creation of the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund to fight against the Coronavirus pandemic. Several Bollywood stars including Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan have come forward to support the cause. The tinsel town celebs have donated to the government relief fund to combat the spread of COVID-19.
Veteran actor Nana Patekar took to Twitter to announce that he has pledged a contribution of Rs 50 lakh to PM CARES fund. Nana donated Rs 50 lakh on behalf of his NGO Naam Foundation to the relief fund.
“On behalf of @NaamFoundation we are contributing Rs. 50 lakhs towards hon' @PMOIndia @narendramodi ji's initiative PM-CARES as a support in India's fight against #COVID19,” the ‘Krantiveer’ actor wrote on the micro-blogging site.
The ‘Ab Tak Chappan’ actor also urged the citizens to remain indoors at their homes and practice social distancing. Check out the video!
Earlier in the day, Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli also announced that they have also contributed to the relief fund.
“Anushka and I are pledging our support towards PM-CARES Fund & the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (Maharashtra). Our hearts are breaking looking at the suffering of so many & we hope our contribution, in some way, helps easing the pain of our fellow citizens #IndiaFightsCorona,” Virat tweeted.
The number of Coronavirus positive cases in India has escalated to 1200. Maharashtra and Kerala are two worst-hit states in the country with over 200 cases.
