New Delhi: Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani starrer ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ has been making waves ever since the makers unveiled the first poster. The much-awaited film was slated to hit the silver screens on Eid 2020. However, the film couldn’t release on its scheduled date as the cinema halls were shut due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Speculations were rife that the film will skip the theatrical route and have a direct-to-web release.

Akshay Kumar has confirmed that ‘Laxmmi Bomb’ will premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar. Although, he didn’t announce the release date, the ‘Kesari’ actor shared a new poster while talking to Varun Dhawan during an interactive session. Akshay Kumar also opened up about wearing a saree and playing a transgender character in 'Laxmmi Bomb'. "This is the most mentally intensive character in my thirty years of career," he said.

Talking about his experience of wearing a saree, Khiladi Kumar said, "I did face difficult during the beginning of shoot as my saree used to fall off. I couldn't walk properly and my costume designer came to my rescue."

‘Laxmmi Bomb’ is the Hindi remake of Tamil horror comedy ‘Muni 2: Kanchana’. The film will focus on a cowardly man, who is possessed by the ghost of a transgender woman, who takes revenge from the people who harmed her.



Ajay Devgn’s ‘Bhuj: The Pride of India’ will also release on Disney+ Hotstar in the upcoming months. The film co-starring Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha is based on 1971 Indo-Pak war.

Alia Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’, which was slated to release on July 10, 2020, will also premiere directly on Disney+ Hotstar. The film also stars Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt.

Disney+ Hotstar will premiere Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film ‘Dil Bechara’ on July 24, 2020. The movie is the Hindi adaptation of John Green’s ‘The Fault in our Stars’.

Movie buffs can enjoy some of the highly anticipated flicks in the upcoming months on the OTT platform. They have aptly named their virtual press conference ‘Bollywood Ki Home Delivery’.
