Mumbai: TV Actor Mahesh Shetty, who has appeared in many shows including top rated Zee TV show 'Pavitra Rishta' starring Ankita Lokhande-Sushant Singh Rajput in lead roles and Ram Kapoor-Sakshi Tanwar's 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hain' which aired on Sony TV, bags an important role in Ajay Devgna's upcoming movie 'Bhuj: The Pride of India'. Mahesh, who would play Ajay's younger brother in the film, calls it a very special film. "I am grateful to be a part of such an incredible story. This film celebrates the bravery and dedication of the women of India. It was a pleasure working with Ajay Sir and the entire team of 'Bhuj: The Pride of India'," he added.

According to sources, Mahesh will be playing the role of an Air Force pilot.

Mahesh, who is mostly known for playing negative roles on small screen, had also appeared in Riteish Deshmukh, Nargis Fakhri and Dharmesh Yelande starrer Bollywood movie 'Banjo' in 2016.

Mahesh has appeared in multiple television shows and he recently shared a throwback from his 'Pavitra Rishta' days on his Instagram profile, posing in a group picture with Ankita Lokhande, Shakti Arora and Aparna Dixit, captioning it- "Down the memory lane !!! #pavitrarishta #thankyou #ankitalokhande #gauriganesh #reunion

Mahesh was playing the role of 'Jaywant Rane', Sushant aka 'Manav's boss in the show who was also set to marry the lead female character of Ankita aka 'Archana' which did not eventually happen.


The Abhishek Dudhaiya directorial 'Bhuj: The Pride of India', Mahesh's next movie starring Ajay Devgn in lead, is slated to release next year.
