New Delhi: The Coronavirus pandemic has severely affected the entertainment industry in India. The shoots for all films, TV and ads were put on hold due to the COVID-19 lockdown in the country. The release date of films like ‘Sooryavanshi’, ‘83’, ‘Coolie No.1’ and ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ have been delayed as the cinema halls were shut because of the lockdown.

Earlier this month, Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana starrer ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ was released directly on an OTT platform. The film had its digital premiere on June 12 on Amazon Prime.

Gossip mills have been buzzing with the rumours that Sanjay Dutt’s much-awaited ‘Sadak 2’ might also see an OTT platform after the film is completed. Movie buffs have been eagerly waiting for ‘Sadak 2’ ever since the project was announced.

If the recent reports are to be believed, Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak’ might release directly on Disney+ Hotstar. If it happens, it would also mark Sanjay Dutt’s OTT debut. The makers have completed the film’s shoot before the lockdown was announced. They will build a small set to shoot one remaining song.

‘Sadak 2’, which is the sequel to ‘Sadak’, also stars Alia Bhatt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Pooja Bhatt.

Mukesh Bhatt, while talking to a leading daily, said that the shooting for 'Sadak 2' will commence from first week of July.

"We are planning to resume the shoot of Sadak 2 by the first week of July. We got the go-ahead [from Film City] yesterday. So, we are putting things in order and will soon [determine] the studio we can shoot in. We will have to build a small set for the song," Bhatt told Mid-Day.

Talking about Sanjay Dutt, the actor has several exciting projects including 'Shamshera', 'Bhuj: The Pride Of India', 'KGF Chapter 2' and 'Torbaaz’ in his kitty.
